Since 2012, NAPA has supported the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) through what is known as the “Get Back and Give Back” campaign, which to date, has raised an incredible $11.5 million! This annual campaign gives NAPA Auto Parts customers the opportunity to contribute to IFHF in a number of ways including purchasing t-shirts and accessory items at participating NAPA Auto Parts stores or online at NAPAonline.com, and also through rebates. On March 7, NAPA Auto Parts presented IFHF Honorary Chairman, Arnold Fisher, and IFHF President, David Winters, with a check for $1,435,000 raised through the 2018 “Get Back and Give Back” campaign.
IFHF Honorary Chairman Arnold Fisher, NAPA Auto Parts President Dan Askey, Retired Navy SEAL Erick Peterson (treated last year at the Camp Pendleton Intrepid Spirit Center) and IFHF President David Winters.
For 2019, NAPA Auto Parts is continuing this campaign with a special emphasis in July, which NAPA Auto Parts has designated as Military Month. Throughout the month, a number of special promotions will support the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund to build critically-needed centers for treating United States military personnel suffering the effects of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS).
Hundreds of thousands of military personnel have been diagnosed with some level of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in the past decade, many as a result of combat. TBI and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) can have long-term and sometimes severe effects on service members’ lives, affecting their ability to work, manage basic living tasks, and interact with others – even with their own families. Depression and more tragic consequences, including suicide, can result. The IFHF Intrepid Spirit Centers provide the most advanced and effective care to these wounded heroes, allowing more than 90% of them to continue on Active Duty and enjoy a full life.
- Since 2012, our support has helped the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund build five Intrepid Spirit Centers located in:
- Fort Belvoir, Virginia
- Camp Lejeune, North Carolina
- Fort Campbell, Kentucky
- Fort Hood, Texas
- Fort Bragg, North Carolina
This July, we are calling on our faithful NAPA Auto Parts customers and communities to join us in supporting the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund by either making a donation directly to them or by participating in our “Get Back and Give Back” campaign. We will have a number of special promotions that will support the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund throughout the entire month; so be sure to visit your local NAPA Auto Parts store and learn how you can help make an impact in the lives of our selfless military personnel, as it has for Lt. Pete Scobell, former US Navy SEAL. Listen to him tell his story in the video below.
